There’s no doubt that gaming is going to be a pillar to the iPad’s success. It’s definitely one of the major reasons the iPhone and iPod Touch are household names. And while it was great that we got to see EA show off one of their Need for Speed titles for the iPad, that’s all we got. We have no reason to believe that the majority (if not all of them) of developers out there, especially the major ones, providing games for the iPod and iPhone won’t do so for the iPad, but it’s always good to get some proof that they will. In this case, we’ve got Secret Exit, the developing unit behind Zen Bound, one of the most popular games available for touch-based devices already on the market.

Zen Bound is a game that’s meant to calm you while you play. Through a series of rotations to the device, you unwind the set product. It’s a relaxing game, and shouldn’t keep you on the edge of your seat much the same way Need for Speed probably would. And while there’s a number 2 on the newer iPad version, the product is being marketed as both a sequel and a revision to the original.

Secret Exit is trying to get the game through the finishing touches as soon as they can, as they want to be able to launch on, or at least near, the release of the iPad. Which, if you’ll recall, is April 3. While this may not be the game you were waiting for, or even expected to see on the iPad, it’s a good sign that not only will we be seeing new releases, but also old favorites returning with a new outfit. We can’t wait to see more iPad-specific applications.
