Looks like the iPad did a pretty well for itself. Sure, we already had an idea about the numbers, but now that we’re getting confirmation from other sites, along with the retailers themselves, we can pretty much count it as a certainty. So far, it looks like all 673 Best Buy retail locations in the United States, all of which include an Apple Shop, anyway, have completely sold out of the iPad.

There’s some good news in the whole ordeal, though. If you were hoping to get your Apple Tablet from the yellow price tag retailer, a spokeswoman for the company stated that they will have retail units available for purchase come this Sunday. Although, if you’re looking for something right now, you could always go into one of your local Apple Stores. Word is that they still have some in stock. And, sure enough, when we contacted some stores in the Los Angeles area, they confirmed with us that they do, indeed, have some iPads left.

So, what’s all of this mean? Well, to play Devil’s advocate, would mean to say that the Best Buy establishments didn’t get all that many units of the iPad in at all. As we’d heard rumored, it might indeed mean that the Apple Shops in those stores only got 15 units, and therefore, selling out would not be that big of an accomplishment (compared to, you know, 50 units in store). We’d like to assume that Apple did very well, though, and we have no reason to think they didn’t.

  1. Just to add to this.....based on reports from buyers around the country, many Best Buy stores had SIGNIFICANTLY more that 15 units. I know of two personally....one had 100 of all 3 models mixed, while the other had just shy of 60.

    Wow.
  2. That's a lot of ipads...
  3. Just to clarify, I'm talking about 100+ photos, so e-mailing them one at a time isn't practical. convert vob to dvd Maybe not, but I always look at all technology purchases this way. Does said device do everything I want it to out of the box? Am I happy with what the device is today? If I answer yes to both those questions, I buy it. I don't buy on "future potential if an upgrade provides"
